I’ve been debating something these last few days, and with great reluctance, I’m taking a step I really didn’t want to. But the alternative is to risk harming my school work, and that’s not a choice, either. I’m going to step away from the blog until Finals. There will be daily content – I’m scheduling it all today, and it will go out on autopilot. I will respond to comments, although that might only happen in the evening. The content will not be fresh, these are blog posts and essays written over the last 2-3 years. Think of it as eating leftovers that have been frozen against such an occasion. Hopefully they aren’t too familiar, or freezer-burned. But I don’t want to neglect the blog entirely, and I don’t want to spend the next week and a half b*tching and moaning. So…

The First Reader has said he’d like to contribute, and he has the keys so he can do so when he has the time and inclination. I’m very blessed to have him in my life right now, the man has the patience of… well, he’d laugh his head off if I called him a saint.

I’m also going to be very scarce on social media. Any of you who really need to reach me, you can do so via email. I check that frequently because of school and business – have to. But I don’t have to be on facebook and I’m going to try not to be until I’m done with this semester. I’ve been struggling with stress and related health issues, and there is very little I can cut from my life. I don’t like that this is it.

I will be back.

Take care of yourself first, the blog can wait.

    1. Thank you, and I will have content, it’s scheduled. I just won’t have to take the hour a day I usually put into it – more on days I guest blog elsewhere.

Probably a good decision — I hope you’ll be able to take some time this summer to just rest!

    1. Mom, I am planning on it. Even just not having to worry about grades will probably help. When I finished scheduling blast from the past essays up to May 15, I could feel this mental weight lift. Now I need to go do dinner and more homework.

You could just recycle some ancient blogs, from back when you were a mom and had to learn from the 4 growing ones.

  7. This is a BRILLIANT choice which shows that you are a BRILLIANT person who knows how to manage resources well!

First things first, second things second. That’s why we call them first and second.

Take care, everybody will still be here when you return. Personally, I’m hoping you accumulate a whole bunch of cool photographs to show us (you do still have to relax once in a while).
