My dear First Reader is at his curmudgeonly best today over at the Otherwhere Gazette. He felt the need to thank some people in the annual hugohaha since it spun up into a hurricane from it’s usual dust devil sized impact.
The Sad Puppies really do need to thank some people who are not of their number. I’ve been watching this fiasco as someone who is in sympathy with the SP movement without being one myself. The truth for the rank and file SP members is basically that they were informed that they could vote on the Hugos and actually get books they liked on the ballot. From the point of view of the rank and file Puppies this was information on how-to and some recommendations they could follow, but were not required to. Most of the rank and file used some of the suggestions and substituted others as they saw fit.

Could you ask the first reader why there is not a RSS feed for the Otherwhere Gazette?
I go there when someone puts a link up and I do have it bookmarked (one of many) but unless I remember it gets bypassed.
Jon, I will put this question to the editors of the Gazette, as it is a group blog and he is only one of many contributors over there. It is an excellent question!
