I hate Viruses

At least bacteria have the decency to be alive, so when they colonize your body in a pathogenic way, you can kill them. Of course that wreaks havoc with your good bugs living their innocent symbiotic lives out in your body, so you have to propitiate them and rebuild the mess you made of their population… It’s a whole epic saga in your gut.

But not viruses. They aren’t ‘alive’ to begin with, so there’s very little you can do about them in the first place. Fortunately most of the minor ones are just a day or two of discomfort and… Oh, who am I kidding? I hate viruses. They rampage through the house, I always get sickest and feel like a big baby, and then as fast as they came in, they’re gone and you pick up the mess from when you were too sick to care. In the meantime, nothing gets done.

It could be worse. It could be prions. Those little buggers are nasty. Macro Words-7

  1. Good book about prions: The Pathological Protein by Philip Yam. Don’t read it right before you go to bed.
