Dragon Noir
The finale to the Pixie for Hire Trilogy, Lom and Bella find themselves fighting for family and two worlds.
The pixie with the gun has come home to see his princess crowned a queen and live in peace. But nothing is ever easy for Lom. A gruesome discovery on his doorstep interrupts their plans and sends Lom off on a mission to save not one, but two worlds. It’s personal this time and the stakes are higher than ever before. With friends falling and the enemy gathering, Bella and Lom must conquer the worst fears and monsters Underhill can conjure. Failure is not on the agenda.
Trickster Noir
Book two in the Pixie for Hire series, Trickster Noir picks up where Pixie Noir ended. Lom, the little pixie with the tough-guy mentality, has proposed to Bella. All should be well, but their happily-ever-after is in grave danger. Threats from both Underhill and the human realms are closing in on them, and the fairy princess raised Alaskan redneck has to learn on the job, and fast!
Back cover blurb: After the battle of Tower Baelfire ended, Lom lay dying. Bella was tasked with not only the job she never wanted, but the one she did. Could she keep Lom alive long enough for him to come to the rescue when their kingdom needed them? And what did Raven, mysterious trickster spirit and honorary uncle to Bella, want with them? If the threat was big enough to have the trickster worried, Bella knew she needed to have Lom at her side. Underhill might look like a soap-bubble kingdom, but Bella and Lom knew there was a gritty underside. Why else would fairyland need a dark man willing to carry a big gun and be the Pixie for Hire? “It’s sort of what would happen if Larry Correia and Georgette Heyer had a torrid love affair.” Sarah Hoyt, author of A Few Good Men and Witchfinder
“Cedar’s ability to pull fantastic creatures and trickster deities from the European, Japanese and Native American traditions and mix them all together in a coherent, entertaining whole… Recommended.” Sci Fi From the Other Side

The pace picks up throughout, so save this book for a weekend, or you’ll be complaining about a lack of sleep at work. A very good read!” –Dave Freer, author of Dog and Dragon

Hi. I bought both Pixie Noir and Trickster Noir, loved both of them. I just finished reading Pixie for the second time, and thought I would tell you and anyone else that the books are great. I am looking forward to more of them.
I will check out the kittens book as well.
Thank you very much! Glad to hear you liked them.
Can’t wait for Underworld’s reaction to Beaker and Grandpa Bob at the coronation. Please don’t make me wait long.
I will do my best to write quickly, but I don’t plan to have Dragon Noir complete until December, with a release in early 2015. I have two novels scheduled before it. We will see!
Very much appreciate the reply. Would one of the two works in progress be an sequel to Vulcan’s Kittens? That would help ease the impatience of waiting for wait for Noir 3.
Yes, I’m wrapping up the first draft of The God’s Wolfling this week. It will close out the duology I started with Vulcan’s Kittens. Tentative release date is August, and I will be announcing on the blog. I’ve started to snippet, and will have another snippet on Thursday, I think.
[…] Cedar Sanderson’s TRICKSTER NOIR is a sequel to PIXIE NOIR (reviewed here by Jason), and features the same main characters — Bella, the human/fairy hybrid with amazing powers she can barely control, and Lom, her pixie detective love interest. Lom is shorter than Bella, and recently sustained a major injury that’s drained him near to death. […]
Read them both twice. Let me know when ……noir three is ready.

Hi Cedar. I just raced through all 3 Pixie for Hire books (got nothing done over the weekend) and loved them. Please continue to feed my addiction. I was just wondering how you will resolve the Grandpa Bob and Beaker issue. It’s like the eternal question about why Goofy is a dog who wears clothes and speaks, while Pluto is a dog. Maybe Beaker is a very large baby? Missing some vital nutrient? Dragons are obviously sentient, or they would not need a library.
Mitch
Beaker is a person, but locked into dragon due to trauma in his past. I am not sure how I’d tell his story, although I will consider telling more about the dragons…
I do plan to return to this world, and have three novels that will be loosely connected planned out. Given my current writing schedule it will be next year before one of them is out. There are other works that must happen first, I’m afraid!
Thank you!
