I plan to be posting some thoughts on freedom and independence of mind in the coming days, because while they can take away the external trappings, they cannot take away our ability to *think* no matter how much they may try.
You can take away my physical freedom. You can force to abide by laws I consider invasive. But as long as I can dream, you cannot take away my freedom.
The first stories weren’t written down, they were told around campfires. And, as I recall, Paul wrote most of his letters while under house arrest.

Take my love, take my land,
Take me where I cannot stand.
I don’t care, I’m still free,
You can’t take the sky from me.
Take me out to the black,
Tell them I ain’t comin back.
Burn the land and boil the sea,
You can’t take the sky from me.
There’s no place, I can be,
Since I’ve found Serenity.

I’m very afraid that our independent will is going to be severely curtailed if fraud is allowed to win.

I’ve never been able to get into the series (heresy, I know.) but I do like the sentiment behind the song.
