It did not take long at all after the chicks came into the house on those cold January days for me to notice something. The cats had abandoned their preferred napping spots in favor of lying right up against the brooder box. Well, it was quite warm. And there were those fascinating chicks to watch just on the other side of the wire,  and it’s a really good thing there was wire on top of the box!
