This winter I decided to add to our flock. We set up a small brooder in the house as we were having the two weeks of Texas Winter. Toast was enthralled. Gidget was wary, but as you’ll see, she did warm up to the idea later. The chicks never even registered they were in danger. Chickens survive on sheer blissful ignorance, I swear.
