This was just adorable. 
Kittens are the best little murder muffins.
And sometimes when the stress gets too much, kitten pictures help. Very small worlds… One smile at a time.

Oh absolutely!
My former biological anthropology prof told us that cute is definitely an evolutionary assist. Cute gets adults to protect and care for smaller ones. Even if they are murder floofs.
Two thoughts.
I saw a cartoon that showed these Tribble-Like aliens being greeted with Ows-and-Ahs by humans. One alien says to another “So much for our Reign Of Terror”. 😉
Second, I had a story in my mind about some would-be star conquers that looked like Ewoks. Unfortunately for their plans, their first conquests were stopped by a vastly larger/more powerful Star Empire (actually a “nice” Empire). While they adjust to their new status within the Empire, the best way to start a fight with one of them is to call them “cute”. They really don’t like to be called “cute”. 😈
