I have two books in the Super Summer Sale that Hans Schantz is running. Both The Case of the Perambulating Hatrack, and Possum Creek Massacre, are on sale for $0.99 this week. You’ll find them, and many, many others, over at his blog.
Plus, he’s got a link that will allow you to get $5 in credit from Amazon if you spend $15 on ebooks, which frankly is an excellent deal for me, and I’m going to be hitting my wishlist to pick up a couple of titles here shortly. I’ve bought a few new fiction titles from the sale, but at a buck a pop, they didn’t hit the limit.

You may notice a theme here, as I tend to wishlist non-fiction ebooks that are a little more expensive than I’d normally impulse. I let them sit on the list for a while, then either pick them up on sale, or decide I really didn’t want that after all.

One of the fun things about books I found through a podcast is ‘hearing’ them as I read, in the author’s voice. John McWhorter’s cheerful enthusiasm is well worth listening to.
Words on the Move: Why English Won’t – and Can’t – Sit Still (Like, Literally)
This one’s on sale but it’s still too rich for my dilettante interest.
Quantum Legacies: Dispatches From an Uncertain World

Anyway, there are others but I won’t bore you. I may also pick up a couple of paper copies, as the library is slowly but surely being unpacked into the new house, and the bookshelves are going in. I will be building bookshelves in a week or so (this weekend is planned full already) and then I’ll have room for more books! Muahaha!

“Vodka Politics” is a great book. I used it for my Russian politics class. And I think Mike has “The Parasitic Mind”. I’ve been eyeing that for a while. The others on your list look fascinating and I’m going to add them to my list.
